One of the teams who have really upped their game in recent times has been Bangladesh, and their last few encounters with India have been really electrifying.

In the 13 editions of the ODI format Asia Cups played so far, India has lifted the trophy on six occasions - while Bangladesh is yet to win the competition even once. It should, however, be noted that the Tigers have managed to reach the finals twice - in 2012 and 2018.

India leads Bangladesh with a massive 11-1 margin in Asia Cup (ODI)

Starting from 1988, India have faced Bangladesh in 12 ODI games during Asia Cup. The Men in Blue have a massive upper hand over Bangladesh, winning 11 of those 12 games.

The only game they lost was back in 2012 at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur.

Sourav Ganguly is at the second position. Virat Kohli, while at the third position, has a chance of jumping ahead both Ganguly and Tendulkar.

Mushfiqur Rahim is the highest run scorer for Bangladesh in the ODI format of the Asia Cup against India. Tamim Iqbal is second on the list with a fair bit of distance, while Litton Das in just two games has been able to bag the third position with 128 runs.

Litton sits at the top with the highest individual score of 128 against India

With a knock of 128 runs in 117 balls, at a strike rate of 103.41 with the help of 12 boundaries and two sixes, Litton Das holds the record for the highest individual score for Bangladesh against India in Asia Cup ODI format. His knock came during the 2018 finals, where his team unfortunately lost the game even after putting up a good fight.

Kohli’s 136 is the highest score by an India player against Bangladesh

Virat Kohli’s knock of 136 runs in 122 balls back in 2014, at an impressive strike rate of 111.47 thanks to 16 boundaries and two sixes, sits on top of the list of highest individual score by India players against Bangladesh in the ODI format of Asia Cup. Kohli’s magnificent knock helped India successfully chase 280 in their opening game of the 2014 edition.

Quite surprisingly, India’s long-time opener and part-time bowler Sehwag with his off-spin holds the record for the best spell (4/6) against Bangladesh for India in Asia Cup (ODI). Coming into the attack during the 32nd over of the game, with wickets of Rahim, Sohrawordi Shuvo, Shafiul Islam, and Syed Rasel- Sehwag blew away the opposition in a matter of just three overs.
