The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has witnessed some serious talent this season so far. From Tim David's monstrous sixes to Jason Roy's power-hitting, there have been many occasions when all these overseas players have risen to the occasion for their respective franchises in the tournament.
With the IPL 2022 mega-auction around the corner, these players can expect heavy bags from franchises. On that note, let's take a look at 5 players who made noise in the Pakistan Super League and can get an IPL contract on the back of their performances there.
Tim David (Base Price INR 40 Lakh)
The 25-year-old, Tim David - Singaporean cricketer has been in brilliant form in PSL 2022. He is one of the reasons why Multan Sultans are doing extremely well in the tournament so far. He is a middle-order batter who can clear the fence easily and provides stability in the middle.
The right-hander has accumulated 197 runs in 6 PSL matches at an average of 65.66 and an astonishing strike rate of 207.36, the highest amongst the top ten run-scorers of PSL.
The Multan Sultans batter also smashed the joint second-fastest fifty of PSL a week ago, showing sample of his batting prowess.
He has played for the Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League (BBL) and for St Lucia Kings in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as well. He has also been a part of Vitality Blast, alongside the Hundred in England.
For Singapore, David has played 11 T20I matches, in which he has scored 429 runs at an average of above 47 and strike rate of over 157. Considering his batting performance in PSL, he would be one of the most wanted players in the IPL 2022 auction, especially for teams that lack a strong finisher.
Alex Hales (Base Price INR 1.5 crore)
Though Alex Hales hasn’t played an international match since March 2019, his performance in T20 leagues around the world has garnered significant eyeballs of the cricket fraternity.
After his successful BBL season, where the 32-year-old accumulated 543 runs from 15 matches at a strike rate of 161.60, the English cricketer displayed his heavy power-hitting skills in the Pakistan Super League.
Hales can easily clear boundaries while providing explosive starts to his team in the poweplay overs. With his performances for Islamabad United where he has scored 168 runs in five matches at an average 42.00 and strike rate of above 150, many IPL teams which are looking for a hard-hitting top-order batter can pick him in the upcoming bidding process.
Colin Munro (Base Price INR 1.5 crore)
The 33-year-old opening batter Colin Munro has played only three PSL games for Islamabad United but hogged the limelight in the short period with his brilliant batting display.
Munro has mustered 165 runs in the three games he has played in PSL so far with 72* being his highest. He was also part of Perth Scorchers - the title-winning team of the Big Bash League 2020-21 - where he smacked 390 runs in 13 matches at an average of 43.33 and strike rate of 127.55.
His clean-striking ability can help the team to post a good powerplay score and if he manages to play till the fifteenth over, a T20 hundred isn't a big deal for the Kiwi batting all-rounder. Franchises which will be looking for opening batters will bid heavily for him.
Paul Stirling (Base Price INR 50 Lakh)
Irish cricketer playing in the Indian Premier League, a sight we haven't seen to date. However, we might see things changing this year around and the player who can be rewarded for his relentless performances is Paul Stirling, the one who deserves it.

He usually opens the batting and attacks the bowlers in the powerplay, helping his team get off to good starts. He is equally impressive with the ball too, scalping 20 wickets in the shortest format.
Continuing his superb form with the bat in PSL 2022, he has smacked 187 runs in 5 matches at an average of 37.40 and strike rate of above 180. He is handy at the top of the order and can bowl his quota of four overs and provide the team with a perfect balance.
Jason Roy (Base Price INR 2 crore)
The English player has attracted the eyeballs of the cricket fraternity with his explosive batting performances in white-ball cricket. There is absolutely no doubt as to how good a batter Jason Roy is, at the top of the order. He is known for scoring quick runs in powerplay overs.
A prime example of his batting prowess came a few days ago when he devastated Lahore Qalandars' bowling attack as he scored a quickfire 116 off just 57 balls to take Quetta Gladiators over the finishing line. He usually bats at the top and helps his team get off to quick starts which will be his role for any franchise he plays for.
Given how well Jason Roy has performed in T20 leagues in the last few months, many franchises will be interested in giving him a longer rope in IPL 2022.
