Sunrisers Hyderabad had a terrific start with Anmolpreet Singh waving the flag helping SRH reach 56-2 at the end of six overs. LSG Spinners, Krunal Pandya and Amit Mishra slowed down things between overs 7th to 13th picking three wickets. Krunal dismissed Aiden Markram for the 3rd time in IPL in eight deliveries. A superb 19th over for Klaasen helped SRH reach 182-6 at the end of 20 overs.
LSG had the slowest of the start on this sluggish wicket, with SRH picking one wicket and giving just 30 runs in the power play. The next six overs, LSG bounced back thanks to a match building 73 runs partnership between Prerak Mankad and Marcus Stoinis for the fourth wicket helping SRH reach 127 runs in the 16th over. LSG needed 56 runs off 27 deliveries with Pooran and Mankad at the crease. A stupendous game changing 13 balls 44 from Pooran helped LSG chase 182 with four deliveries to spare.

Klaasen was sent up the batting order today in the 9th over when SRH were 82-3. Klaasen has shown over the IPL 2023 season his ability to play spin as has the highest strike rate of 181.48 against spin, topping Shivam Dube’s 177.11, and Sanju Samsons 170.31. He attacked Mishra on the first ball of his batting innings for a four. Klaasen then attacked Bishnoi in the 12th over for 13 runs and Mishra in the 16th over to score 15 runs to give momentum back to SRH after a double wicket 13th over from Krunal Pandya. Klaasen ended up with 29 balls 47 helping SRH reach 180+.
Mankad-Marcus brings back life to LSG’s chase with a 73-run partnership
The youngster Mankad who was brought into this game showed why he was trusted over Deepak Hooda. Mankad took time initially but Marcus Stoinis’s attacking game play helped LSG talk head-to-head with the required run rate of 12+. Stoinis was eventually dismissed after an elevating 40 balls 25 runs innings as the 73-run partnership was broken. Mankad also capitalized on Stoinis’ big hitting and supported him equally with smart boundaries here and there to up the ante for LSG.
The Nicholas Pooran show steals the win out of Jaws of defeat for LSG
Needing 56 runs of just 27 deliveries, LSG had a blessing in disguise as Marcus Stoinis was dismissed and Nicholas Pooran came to the crease. It was the perfect occasion for Pooran and he started his rampage with a three consecutive sixes on the first three balls of his innings. The momentum shifted and the prolific left hander didn’t look back as he stamped LSG towards the victory with four balls to spare courtesy his 13 balls 44 runs to seal the game for LSG.

LSG moved to the fourth position with this win and improved their NRR to +0.309 and kept the playoff hopes alive. Delhi Capitals will take on Punjab Kings in the Saturday double header at 7:30 PM.
