Jasprit Bumrah becomes fastest India bowler to take 100 away Test wickets, in just 22 matches

Mohammed Shami becomes third quickest Indian bowler to take 200 wickets, in just 55 Test matches.

India became the first Asian side to win a Test in Centurion, in the process handing South Africa only their third defeat at a venue where the latter have won 21 Test matches.

1 - India won their first-ever Test match at Centurion in South Africa.

1 - Jasprit Bumrah became the fastest Indian bowler to take 100 away Test wickets, in just 22 matches. The previous record-holder was Bhagwath Chandrasekhar who reached the milestone in 25 Tests.

1 - Rishabh Pant became the fastest Indian wicketkeeper to reach 100 Test dismissals, in just 26 Test matches. He surpassed MS Dhoni and Wriddhiman Saha, both of whom reached 100 Test dismissals in 36 Test matches.

49 – India, under the leadership of Virat Kohli, have bowled out opponent sides under 200 for a record 49 times in Test cricket. They have surpassed the record of Proteas under Graeme Smith, who bowled out opponent side under 200 on 48 occasions.

200 - Mohammed Shami completed his 200 Test wickets during the first innings of South Africa in the recently concluded Test match.

3 - Mohammed Shami became the third quickest Indian bowler to take 200 wickets, in just 55 Test matches. Only Kapil Dev (50) and Javagal Smith (54) bagged 200 wickets faster than Shami.

2 - Mohammed Shami has now bagged two Test fifers on Proteas soil. Only Javagal Srinath took more fifers (3) in South Africa than Shami.

7 - KL Rahul smashed his seventh century in Test cricket in the recently concluded Test match.

1 - KL Rahul scored his first Test century in South Africa in the first innings of the Centurion Test match.

2 - KL Rahul became only the second Indian opener to smash a Test century in South Africa, after Wasim Jaffer at Cape Town in 2007.

6 - KL Rahul has scored at least one century in each of the six countries in which he has played Test cricket - Australia, England, India, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies.

1 - Virat Kohli has now won the most tosses (30) for an Indian captain in Test cricket.

5 - Cheteshwar Pujara was dismissed for the fifth time on a duck in ICC World Test Championship. He is only the eighth player to register five ducks in ICC World Test Championship.

9 - Cheteshwar Pujara has been dismissed nine times on duck in Test cricket, most for any one down player among Indians. Pujara surpassed Dilip Vengsarkar who was dismissed on duck eight times in Test cricket at the one down position.

3 - Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul became only the third Indian opening batting pair to add a 100-run partnership in South Africa after Dinesh Karthik-Wasim Jaffer (Cape Town in 2007) and Gautam Gambhir-Virendra Sehwag (at Centurion in 2010)

4 – India won four Test matches away from home in 2021. This is only the second occasion for the Indian team winning four Test matches away from home in a calendar year, the first was in 2018.

8 - India won eight Test matches in 2021. India have won more Test matches in a single calendar year only once, in 2010.

4 - India became the first Asian team to defeat South Africa four times in their own den in Test cricket. They surpassed Sri Lanka who have won three times in South Africa.
