In ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, India beat Scotland by eight wickets on Friday and move to the third spot in the point table with the best NRR in Group 2. India still have an outside chance to make it to the semi-final given Afghanistan beat New Zealand on Sunday.


Here is a look at the major records set/broken in India vs Scotland game of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021:


1- India beat Scotland today with 81 balls remaining, which is the largest win of margin for India in T20I cricket. The previous largest win of margin in T20Is was 59 balls remaining against UAE at Dhaka in 2016.


3- India's win over Scotland is the third-largest margin of win in T20 World Cup tournaments, after Sri Lanka’s win over the Netherlands by 90 balls at Chittagong in 2014 and Australia’s win over Bangladesh by 82 runs at Dubai in 2021.


3- Indian opener KL Rahul struck a fifty against Scotland in just 18 balls today, which is the joint-third fastest fifty with Glenn Maxwell in T20 World Cup tournaments after Yuvraj Singh (12 balls) and Stephan Myburgh (17 balls).

2- KL Rahul's 18-ball-fifty is the second fastest fifty by an Indian in T20 World Cup tournaments after Yuvraj Singh, who smashed a fifty in just 12 balls against England in T20 World Cup in 2007.


2- KL Rahul's 18-ball-fifty is also the second quickest fifty for any Indian batter in T20Is, after Yuvraj Singh who smashed a fifty in just 12 balls against England in T20 World Cup in 2007.


2- KL Rahul became the only second Indian player to smash fifty in the powerplay in T20Is after Rohit Sharma completed his fifty in just 23 balls in powerplay against New Zealand at Hamilton in 2020.


1- Indian pacer Mohammad Shami registered his best bowling figures in T20Is today against Scotland -15/3.


1- Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja registered his best bowling figures today against Scotland- 15/3. His previous best bowling figures were 48/3 against West Indies at Mirpur in 2014.


1- Indian pacer Mohammad Shami bowled the first maiden over of his T20I career today. His previous best bowling figures were 32/2 against Afghanistan at Abu Dhabi in the previous match of India in T20 World Cup 2021.


4- This is only the fourth instance of two Indian bowlers picking three or more wickets each in a T20 World Cup match.


2- Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja won the Player of the Match award today against Scotland for his bowling figures of 15/3. This was only the second player of the Match award for Jadeja in T20Is.


1- India scored 82 runs in powerplay overs today against Scotland, which is the highest for India in T20Is, after their powerplay score of 78 against South Africa at Johannesburg in 2018.

1- This is also the fifth highest powerplay score in T20 World Cup tournaments.


1- Indian paceman Jasprit Bumrah (64) went past Yuzvendra Chahal (63 wickets) to become India’s highest wicket-taker in T20Is.

6- Indian skipper Virat Kohli has won a toss after losing six consecutive tosses in T20Is.


1- Scotland could make only 85 runs today against India, which is the second-lowest total against India in the T20 World Cup after a total of 80 runs made by England at Colombo.


3- This is the third-lowest total made by Scotland in T20 World Cup tournaments after 60 against Afghanistan at Sharjah in 2021 and 81 against South Africa at The Oval in 2009.
