ICC T20 WC 2021 Records - Kohli first player to reach 500 runs against Pakistan in ICC events

On Sunday, The Super 12 round of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 saw Bangladesh squaring off against Sri Lanka in the first game of Group 2. India later played Pakistan in the second game at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Here’s a look at the records set/broken on Sunday of Super 12 of ICC T20 World Cup 2021:

Sri Lanka Vs Bangladesh at Sharjah Cricket Stadium

1 - Shakib Al Hasan now has the most wickets (11) for Bangladesh in a T20 World Cup tournament. The previous record-holder was Al Amin Hossain, who bagged 10-wickets for Bangladesh in the 2014 T20 World Cup.

4 - Shakib is the only fourth player to take 10 or more wickets in consecutive two T20 World Cups after Shahid Afridi(2007,2009), Umar Gul(2007,2009) and Saeed Ajmal(2009,2010)

1 - Mushfiqur Rahim scored his first fifty in T20 World Cup.

23 - Mushfiqur took the highest number of innings (23) before scoring a fifty in T20 World Cup. Earlier, Mohammad Hafiz and Mahmudullah Riyad had this record on their name, as they scored their first fifty in T20 World Cup after playing 20 innings.

1- Mohammad Naim's 477 runs in 2021 are now the highest by a Bangladesh player in T20Is of a year. The previous record-holder was Sabbir Rahman, who scored 463 runs in 2016 for Bangladesh.

1 - Charith Asalanka scored a match-winning unbeaten knock of 80 runs against Bangladesh today, which is his highest score in T20 cricket.

1 - This was the maiden fifty of Charith Asalanka in T20I cricket.

India vs Pakistan at Dubai International Cricket Stadium

625 - Pakistan team which played against India have a combined experience of 625 matches. It makes them the most experienced team ever to take the field in a T20I.

200 - Today is the 200th international match between India and Pakistan.

50 - Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are playing their 50th T20I match today.

1 - Virat Kohli is dismissed for the first time against Pakistan in T20 World Cup after scoring 226 runs from 4 innings. These are the highest number of runs by any batsman against any opponent before getting dismissed the first time.

1 - Virat Kohli is the first-ever player to 10 fifty-plus scores in the T20 World Cup. He surpassed Chris Gayle, who scored 9 fifty-plus scores in the T20 World Cup.

1 - Virat Kohli is the first Indian captain to score fifty in T20 World Cup.

1 - Virat Kohli becomes the first player to reach 500 runs against Pakistan in ICC events.

1 - Rohit Sharma is the only cricketer to play for India in all the seven Men's T20 World Cups (2007-2021)

1 - Virat Kohli became the only second player to captain India in a T20 World Cup after MS Dhoni.

2 - Rohit Sharma is the second Indian opener to be dismissed for a golden duck in T20 World Cup after Murali Vijay against South Africa in 2010.

5 - Rohit is the fifth Indian batter to be dismissed for a golden duck in T20 World Cup after Dinesh Karthik (2007), Murali Vijay (2010), Ashish Nehra(2010), Suresh Raina (2016) and Rohit Sharma(2021).

7 - Rohit registered his seventh duck today in 112 T20I matches. It was the third golden duck of Rohit Sharma in his T20I career.

7 - Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan registered the seventh fifty-plus partnership in T20Is today which is the most for any Pakistan batting pair. They surpassed Babar Azam/Mohammad Hafiz and Shoaib Malik/Umar Akmal who registered six fifty-plus partnerships each in T20I cricket.

5 - Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan bring up the century partnership. This is Pakistan's 5th-century partnership in ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

152 - Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan added 152 runs for the first wicket which is the highest partnership for Pakistan against India in T20I cricket.

1 - This partnership between Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan is now the highest stand against India for any wicket in T20Is. The previous highest was 133 runs between Warner and Watson (opening wicket) at Colombo in 2012.

1 - Virat Kohli became the first Indian captain to lose against Pakistan in World Cups.

1 - Babar Azam became the first Pakistan captain to win against India in World Cups.

1 - India have lost a T20I match by 10 wickets for the first time.

1 - This is the first Men's T20 World Cup match where both captains fifty runs. Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored 57, while Babar Azam scored unbeaten 68 runs in this game.

68 - Pakistan skipper Babar Azam scored an unbeaten knock of 68 runs today against India which is the highest score by Pakistan captain in ICC T20 World Cup. The previous highest was 56 scored by Shoaib Malik in 2007 against Sri Lanka at Wanderers Stadium.

1 - This is Pakistan's first-ever successful run chase without losing any wickets in T20Is.
